IT SUPPORT SPECIALIST

Patrix is an international intellectual property case management system provider with over 30 years in the business of software development, marketing and implementation. Our client base is worldwide and with our state of the art system, we are working with some of the world’s leading Legal IP providers. 

 
Work description 
The candidate will work with Patrix internal IT infrastructure together with our Swedish and US teams. Patricia is a JBOSS based web application that can be installed in both Windows and Debian based environments. This role will assist with the deployment, support and migration of the Patricia application and databases. 
 

Required Skills  

  • Troubleshooting Experience on servers, various operating systems and software 

  • Ability to prioritize work based on business needs and urgency.  

  • Ability to communicate and write effectively in both verbal and written communication mediums.  

  • Experience taking on-call shifts and ability to respond to critical events as needed.  

  • Experience escalating issues to Sr. onsite staff and management as needed.  

  • IT Hardware Concepts knowledge:  

  • RAID  

  • SAN  

  • X86 Architecture  

  • SCIS  

  • Linux/Unix  

  • Boot Process  

  • GRUB/LILO  

  • File Systems  

  • Network Device configuration  

  • Directory Structure 

  • SSL 

  • HTTPS 

  • Experience with Elasticsearch 

  • Experience with Azure 

  • Experience with T-SQL administration 

  • Speak and write English fluently. Other languages are good to have but not a must. 

 

Preferred Skills and Qualifications  

  • 2-year degree or 5 years of relevant work experience  

  • 5-year Linux administration experience  

  • Experience in Data Center Infrastructure projects. 

  • Experience from attached storage and storage management in Linux 

  • Experience with file servers, users permissions and services in Windows 

  • Comfortable in bash scripting 

  • Experience in Security practices, including but not limited to encryption, SSL, firewall, VPNs 

  • Additional languages

CLIENT SUPPORT SPECIALIST

We are seeking a motivated individual to join the Patrix team as a Client Support Specialist! This exciting role is one where you will be handling incoming client support request related to the software that we provide to our international client base. As a Client Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in maintaining strong client relationships and contributing to the success of our software products.

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Respond to incoming client support requests in a timely and professional manner, via email, phone, client meetings or other communication channels.
  2. Take ownership of client issues and follow through to resolution, ensuring that clients receive comprehensive assistance.
  3. Collaborate with other teams, including developers and product managers, to resolve client issues and improve software functionality.
  4. Maintain a thorough understanding of our intellectual property software products and stay up to date with new features and enhancements.
  5. Proactively identify opportunities to improve client support processes and contribute to ongoing process optimization efforts.
  6. Conduct client training sessions and provide clear instructions on software usage and best practices.
  7. Develop and maintain a strong rapport with clients, fostering long-term relationships and promoting customer loyalty.

 

Requirements:

  1. Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  2. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  3. Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

 

Preferred:

  1. Familiarity with SQL for querying databases is beneficial.
  2. Knowledge of intellectual property concepts and processes, such as patents, trademarks, and designs, would be advantageous.
  3. Knowledge in Patrix software solutions is beneficial.
  4. Ability to speak languages like French and Spanish is a great plus.
  5. Experience in handling client support inquiries, preferably in a software or technology-related industry.

TRAINEE ADVISOR (Intellectual Property)

Your role will involve assisting and eventually leading clients in implementing our IP Management System, Patricia. This includes understanding the intricacies of IP practices and departmental processes, legal requirements, and procedural nuances related to patents, trademarks, designs, and utility models. You’ll work closely with clients to ensure seamless integration and optimal utilization of our software.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with clients to analyze their IP workflows and tailor Patricia to their specific needs.
  • Provide training and support during the implementation process.
  • Assist clients in navigating legal and procedural requirements related to intellectual property.
  • Develop strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of Patricia based on user feedback.

 

Qualifications:

  • Excellent English communication skills (both spoken and written).
  • Willingness to travel as needed (domestically and internationally).
  • A genuine interest in working with people and solving complex puzzles.
  • Enthusiasm for learning and growing within the field of intellectual property.
  • Legal training or 3 years of experience as a Paralegal at a general law firm or in an IP department or IP practice.
